Located near the Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve in Rochester, Michigan, this home is nestled in a neighborhood with several simple ranch houses built during the 1950s. However, the owner wanted to change up the home’s appearance while ensuring it fit in with the styles of the homes in the neighborhood.
The owner loved the Craftsman style. Adapting this style to the home turned out to be the genesis of the design concept. The result was a new Craftsman style-inspired front porch, changing the appearance of the home while retaining its 1950s charm.
